Citizens of Gloucester
served and fought in every battle that our Army and Navy participated
in. Men from Gloucester fought in Africa, Europe, Asia and in the
Atlantic and Pacific Oceans. Some were killed, some wounded, and a few
were help prisoners of war by the enemy. Here are the names of those who
served, as per the WWII Veterans Memorial book published in Summer,
2008.

There are a number of long-time Gloucester
residents who served in WWII but were not drafted out of Gloucester. We
would like to honor them as well.
Long-time Residents
Of the 5,660 men and
women who served our country in WWII, 119 of them lost their lives to
this conflict. We honor and thank them for their efforts.

Veteran who is not yet listed, please bring a copy of their discharge
papers and a copy of them in their WWII Uniform to the Veterans Office
on Emerson Avenue in Gloucester.
